Shaitsu session

What is Shiatsu?

Shiatsu is a Japanese therapy that works with the energy lines called meridians in traditional oriental medicine. It uses the stimulation of acupressure points, massage and stretches (rather than needles as in acupuncture).

Sessions are available in Bath and Bradford on Avon

Like other therapies such as reflexology and Reiki, Shiatsu is a holistic therapy that works on many levels. Shiatsu works with our bodies (muscles, joints, bones and organs), our energy (physical, emotional and mental), and our spirits, grounding and invigorating us.

Unlike Swedish or deep tissue massage, Shiatsu takes place, Japanese style, on a futon. The client is fully clothed and it's a very relaxing treatment to receive.

Shiatsu eases tension and stiffness in the muscles and is excellent for bad backs, tight shoulders and joints. It improves breathing and circulation and is good for asthma. It is very helpful with stress, anxiety, depression, insomnia, digestive disorders such as IBS, ME, menstrual problems and many physical and somatic complaints.
